Conor McGregor has become a father for the third time as his fiancee Dee Devlin gave birth to their second son Rian this afternoon.
The Irishman is set to leave his family for the next two months in preparation for his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 on July 10, but luckily got to meet his new son before heading off.
He had mentioned in a fan Q&A last week that Devlin’s due date was within the next week, and they welcomed their newest addition earlier today.
McGregor took to Instagram to post a picture with his new son, saying: “The McGregor Clan is now a family of 5.
“Healthy baby boy delivered! Baby and Mammy Wonder Woman are doing great! God I thank you for everything you give to me and my family in this world.
“My new born son, Rían McGregor.”
Within just an hour of posting the picture to his nearly 40 million followers, the post had garnered over 1.1 million likes and tens of thousands of commentss.
The couple, who have been together since McGregor was fighting on small regional shows, welcomed their first child Conor Jr. in early 2017.
Then they had their first daughter Croia in January 2018, and decided to take a more private approach to her first few weeks.
Conor Jr has now become a staple of Conor McGregor fight weeks, often stealing the show at open workouts and pre-fight media events after making his on-camera debut before his dad fought Floyd Mayweather Jr.
The name Rian is related to the Gaelic name Ryan and the meaning of the name Rian is king, it is primarily used as a male name and is of gaelic origin. It is phonetically pronounced Ree-an, and is a relatively common name in Ireland.
Devlin and McGregor have been in Dubai with their two children, Conor Jr and Croia, after his loss to Poirier in January at UFC 257 on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.
The former two-weight world champion will link up with coaches John Kavanagh and Owen Roddy in the coming days, who flew over to Dubai today.
Coach Kavanagh left his own young child at home to join the very private training camp, posting an emotional message to his fiancee Orlagh Hunter and his son Conall to his Instagram page.
McGregor will likely earn a shot at newly crowned lightweight champion Charles Oliveira if he is able to win his trilogy with Poirier in July.
