In a vehicle accident, Nigeria’s ex-president was unharmed, but two security aides were slain
(Xinhua) — ABUJA, April 7 (Xinhua) — Former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan was unharmed in a mishap involving his convoy on Wednesday, but two of his security aides were killed, according to his media office.
Jonathan’s two other security aides were also injured in the accident, which involved a car carrying the security men near the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, on Wednesday evening, while the former president was on his way out of the city, according to the media office.
“The untimely death of the two security personnel has thrown him for a loop,” said the former president, who described the situation as “sad and heartbreaking.”
