Balochistan LG elections postponed request got dismissed
The constitutional petitions submitted for the postponement of local body elections in Balochistan province were dismissed by a division bench consisting of Chief Justice Balochistan High Court (BHC), Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan, and Justice Rozi Khan Barech.
According to the court’s decision, Pakistan’s Election Commission is prepared to hold local government elections according to the scheduled timeline.
Because there is now no impediment to holding these elections on the schedule announced on March 23, 2022, constitutional petitions seeking a postponement of the local body elections are being dismissed.
Earlier, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) began preparations for local government (LG) elections despite the Balochistan administration’s appeal to postpone them.
