A German consumer goods company leaving Russia.
Henkel, the German consumer goods company that owns the Schwarzkopf cosmetics brand and the Pritt adhesive brand, announced on Tuesday that it would be joining a slew of other companies exiting the Russian market.
According to the agency, Henkel has “decided to exit its enterprise activities in Russia,” where it employs 2,500 people.
It stated that the monetary impact on the Dusseldorf-based company “cannot be quantified at this time.”
Henkel announced in early March that it will refrain from making investments in Russia while continuing to provide the market with “essential commodities” across its whole line of household and personal hygiene products.
Prior to the commencement of the conflict, Russia accounted for about 5% of Henkel’s sales.

Ritter Sport, the maker of the distinctly rectangular chocolate bars, has also stayed in Russia, earning the wrath of Andriy Melnyk, the Ukrainian ambassador to Germany, who has publicly chastised the company on Twitter.
At the end of March, the confectioner announced that it will contribute earnings from the Russian market to “humanitarian resource corporations.”
