WhatsApp update that will spare you from big disgrace.
WHATSAPP is currently testing a substantial enhancement to a feature that deletes your texts automatically.
With the update, you’ll be able to enable self-vanishing messages for many existing chats as well as new ones.
We don’t always hold our most ancient writings in high regard.
Having your old communications “unsend” themselves automatically is an excellent method to avoid humiliation later on.
The WABetaInfo gadget sleuths, who mine WhatsApp for impending changes, discovered the change.
“The default message timer only affects new individual chats when you enable it,” WABetaInfo explained.
“However, WhatsApp is currently developing a new alternative for your existing chats.”
WhatsApp is currently developing a new feature.
In a future update, WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will allow us to convert several existing conversations to disappearing chats. “
A new shortcut will allow you to enable disappearing messages for multiple chats.
This eliminates the need to toggle each chat manually.
All new messages in the conversations will vanish once you enable the setting.
Unfortunately, no release date has been set.
“Unfortunately, this feature is still in development,” WABetaInfo noted, “therefore there are no further specifics on when it will be pushed out to beta testers.”
“However, whenever the feature is enabled, we will update this website with a new changelog.”
Disappearing Messages may currently be enabled to switch on automatically for all new chats — without affecting existing conversations.
In total, there are four options: 24 hours, 7 days, 90 days, and Off.
Disappearing Messages is enabled by default for all one-on-one chats.
The setting can be chosen by either person in the discussion.
Don’t worry about losing old information because it won’t update or destroy any of your existing chats.
A notification will also appear informing anyone participating in the conversation that their communications will be removed.
This notice will tell you how long you have till the texts vanish forever.
Remember that this system isn’t flawless.
Someone might still capture your texts by taking a snapshot or copying them.
So, unless you’re contacting someone you totally trust, if you truly want to keep something off the internet, don’t publish it.
