Snoring can be annoying for the person.
However, experts caution that it’s worth investigating whether you sound like a foghorn at night, particularly if you’re a woman over 50.
It’s a frequent ailment that’s rarely caused by anything significant.
Losing weight and sleeping in a different position can help most people stop snoring.
Snoring, on the other hand, may indicate that you are at danger of developing sleep apnoea, which can be fatal in rare situations.
Pre-menopausal (aged 20-40) and post-menopausal (aged 40+) women were studied (aged 55 and over).
According to experts, 15% of older women are at high risk for sleep apnoea.
In comparison, only 3.5 percent of women in the younger age range are pregnant.
They also discovered that 11% of women who snore had an elevated risk of sleep apnoea, compared to only 1% of women who do not snore.
Hundreds of women were checked by Israeli doctors as part of a study published in the Journal of Clinical Medicine.
“The absence of early identification is particularly visible in one of the target demographic groups: women over the age of 50, who suffer from a rise in the incidence of sleep-disordered breathing,” stated researcher Ilana Eli.
