UK’s elite are now worth £710 BILLION.

The 2022 Sunday Times Rich List has revealed the wealthiest persons in the UK, with billionaire brothers Sri and Gopi Hinduja topping the list.

The super-rich twins, who head the Mumbai-based conglomerate Hinduja Group, are worth a whopping £28.47 billion, an increase of more than £11 billion from previous year.

Their father, Parmanand Deepchand Hinduj, founded their international corporation after trading products in India’s Sindh province.

He relocated the company’s headquarters to Iran in 1919, and his sons relocated it to London in 1979.

The brothers allege their father told them to “advance bravely” shortly before his death in 1971.

The sons took the company global, investing in everything from trucking to banking, IT, and media.

According to the source, there were a record 177 billionaires in the UK, six more than in 2021, as the wealthiest figures in the UK increased their combined fortunes by 8% to a record £710 billion in just 12 months.

It comes as regular households in the UK face a cost-of-living crisis and soaring bills, with prices rising at the quickest rate in 40 years.
