Manchester United confirm midfielder Paul Pogba will leave on a free transfer.
The club has confirmed that Paul Pogba will leave Manchester United on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of this month.
Pogba, 29, cost United a then-world record £89 million when he returned from Juventus in 2016.
In his second stint, he made 27 appearances in an injury-plagued final season.
“It was a low-key end to a united career that had so many individual high moments,” the club said in a statement.
“There were so many lovely goals, assists, and pieces of skill.”
For a boy who joined the academy at the age of 16 to make over 200 United appearances and win the Youth Cup, as well as two major trophies, is something to be applauded and celebrated.”
Pogba joined United from French club Le Havre as a 16-year-old in 2009 and was a member of the academy team that won the Youth Cup in 2011.
He only made seven senior appearances before leaving to join Juventus when his contract expired in July 2012.
Pogba won eight major awards in Turin, including four Serie A titles in a row, before making a record-breaking return to Old Trafford.
During his first season at the club, he won the EFL Cup and the Europa League, but these would be his only trophies.
