A Ukrainian artillery strike kills hundreds of Russian troops at an ammo dump.

Footage has emerged of a large complex on fire following an airstrike near Russian-occupied Mariupol, which is said to have killed 300 mercenaries and ammunition.

President Vladimir Putin has suffered a new setback in Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, with an artillery strike killing hundreds of soldiers.

According to report, footage has emerged showing a large ammo store on fire after being allegedly hit, with only one survivor.

Private soldiers from Russia’s infamous Wagner Group were said to be using the sports arena in Kadiivka, eastern Ukraine, as a base.

According to reports, up to 300 mercenaries were killed in the attack, which was one of the largest in history.

The governor of Luhansk province, Serhiy Haidai, stated that Ukrainian forces shelled the mercenary headquarters.

He said: “The Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a well-targeted attack on it. Only one occupier escaped.”

Before launching their full-fledged invasion in February, the Kremlin had been supporting pro-Russian rebels in the Donbas region for years.

The Wagner Group is regarded as Putin’s private army and has conducted operations all over the world. Because the group is not explicitly linked to the Kremlin, the Russian president is said to have used it to give himself plausible deniability.

The 8,000-strong organization has been accused of murdering children, raping and torturing women, and carrying out executions.

Wagner mercenaries are frequently retired Russian soldiers who earn up to £2,000 per month.
