Russia makes everyone in occupied eastern Ukraine pay £200 to fund the war.

Vitaly Khotsenko, the self-proclaimed republic’s Prime Minister, declared that 14,000 rubles (£200) will be taken from everyone, including infants and the elderly.

According to reports, Russia is forcing everyone in the occupied regions of eastern Ukraine to pay 14,000 rubles (£200) to pay for the war.

Kira Yarmysh, the spokeswoman for Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny, announced on Twitter that Vitaly Khotsenko, the self-proclaimed republic’s Prime Minister, has declared that 14,000 rubles (approximately £200) will be taken from everyone, including infants and the elderly.

The Kremlin has stated that it will invest more than two trillion rubles in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) economy over the next two years. For nearly eight years, Ukrainians in the southeastern regions of Donetsk and Luhansk, known as the Donbas, have been controlled by Moscow-backed separatists.

However, Russian President Vladimir Putin only recognized Donetsk and Luhansk as official republics on February 21, three days before Russia invaded Ukraine.

This was interpreted as justification for the warmonger to invade Ukraine.

Except for Russia, all UN member states consider the DPR to be a part of Ukraine and not an independent state.

However, Syria became the first country to formally recognize the two parts of Ukraine as independent republics earlier this week.
