Sixth case of Monkeypox reported in Pakistan
A 44-year-old citizen who arrived in Pakistan from an Arab country has become the latest and sixth victim of deadly monkeypox.
The aviation staff screened the passengers and isolated them during screening at Islamabad Airport.
With the latest case of monkeypox reported in Pakistan, the tally reached six amid the measures being taken by the aviation authorities to screen incoming passengers.
The patient’s test was sent to the National Institute of Health, which came back positive. The patient was admitted to the PIMS isolation ward and he has been well.
Dr. Mukhtar Bharath said health authorities screened 630,000 passengers at airports. “The Ministry of Health is ensuring the monitoring of the situation,” Dr. Mukhtar said.
