‘Stree 2’ becomes highest-grossing Hindi film ever

Maddock Films, one of the production companies behind ‘Stree 2’, has officially confirmed that the film has become the “number one Hindi film of all time” in India.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, the production house shared a celebratory poster along with a note marking the achievement. The film has surpassed the lifetime box office collections of Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’ in Hindi.

‘Stree 2’ breaks box office record

The poster featured the text, “Indian box office’s no. 1 Hindi film of all time!” along with the caption, “Woh Stree hai aur usne aakhir kar dikhaya… Hindustan ki sab se sarvashresth (She is Stree, and she has finally done it… India’s best film). No. 1 Hindi film of all time!!!”

The post also expressed gratitude to fans, saying, “Yeh itihaas humare saath rachane ke liye sab fans ko bahut bahut dhanyavaad (Thank you so much to all fans for making this history with us). ‘Stree 2’ is still running successfully in cinemas… theatre aao, kuch aur naye records rachate hain (Come to theatres, let’s create more new records)!”

‘Stree 2’s box office success  

As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, ‘Stree 2’, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, has grossed 586 crore Indian rupees at the Indian box office. Adarsh confirmed this on his X account, sharing a poster of the film with the caption, “#Stree2 scripts HISTORY… Becomes the HIGHEST-GROSSING *HINDI* FILM EVER… Crosses *lifetime biz* of #Jawan [Hindi version]. Next stop: Inaugurating the ₹600 cr Club.”

The film’s current box office numbers for Week 5 are: Fri 3.60 crore INR, Sat 5.55 crore INR, Sun 6.85 crore INR, Mon 3.17 crore INR, Tue 2.65 crore INR, with a total of 586 crore INR in India.
