PTA insists internet working perfectly in Pakistan
Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced that the issue of internet slowness across the country has been completely resolved.
According to a spokesperson, internet services are now operating at full speed and capacity following the rectification of faults in the SMW-4 submarine cable.
The spokesperson confirmed that the SMW-4 cable experienced issues in June, and the AAE1 cable faced problems in August, resulting in a shortfall of 1,750 Gbps. With the recent repairs, the PTA assures that internet connectivity is now stable.
To further enhance the country’s internet infrastructure, the PTA revealed plans to introduce three new cables within the next two years—two cables from Transworld International and one from the PTCL cable system. Additionally, the Pace Cable, which was integrated into the network in 2023, aims to increase overall internet capacity.
