Pakistan’s IT exports jump 34.9%, surpass $1.2bn in 4 months
Pakistan’s IT exports recorded a historic 34.9% growth during the first four months of the current financial year, exceeding $1.2 billion, according to Minister of State for IT Shaza Fatima Khawaja.
Comparing the figures to the same period last year, she said that IT exports stood at $891 million, marking an increase of over $300 million in October this year.
This upward trend in October 2024 reflected a 38.6% rise compared to October 2023, when exports were valued at $230 million.
The state minister maintained that the government’s proactive measures to promote the IT sector were underway. She highlighted ongoing efforts supported by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) to foster innovation, improve infrastructure, and enhance global competitiveness.
