Lahore’s AQI improves slightly but remains hazardous

Lahore’s overall air quality index (AQI) improved slightly, standing at 267 but despite this improvement, the air remains highly polluted, with harmful chemical levels exceeding World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines by 38 times.

Certain areas of the city reported significantly higher AQI levels, highlighting localized hotspots of severe pollution.

Sundar Industrial Area in Raiwind recorded the highest AQI at 577, followed by Defence Phase 5 at 451 and Pine Avenue at 379. Valencia Town recorded an AQI of 348, while Johar Town and Cavalry Ground registered 292 and 291, respectively. Shadman stood at 282, Ferozepur and Model Town’s surroundings at 269, Ghazi Road at 268, and Gulberg at 267.
