Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman made this announcement in an important meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Prince Mohammad was quoted as saying: \u201cThe comprehensive strategy aims to position Saudi Arabia as a global logistics hub connecting the three continents,\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Saudi Arabia will be at 5th rank globally in terms of air transit traffic if it successfully establishes another national flag carrier, the local media reported. However, there were no reports as when and how the airline would be created.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyrapidnews.com\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/saudi-arabia.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11716\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyrapidnews.com\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/saudi-arabia.jpg\" alt=\"Saudi Arabia plans new national airline\" width=\"1200\" height=\"674\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dailyrapidnews.com\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/saudi-arabia.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/dailyrapidnews.com\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/saudi-arabia-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/dailyrapidnews.com\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/saudi-arabia-1024x575.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/dailyrapidnews.com\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/saudi-arabia-768x431.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Prince Mohammad was spearheading a push for Saudi Arabia, the biggest Arab economy and the largest country in the Gulf geographically, to boost non-oil revenues to about 45 billion Riyals ($12.00 billion) by 2030.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Making the kingdom a global logistics hub, which includes the development of ports, rail and road networks, would increase the transport and logistics sector\u2019s contribution to gross domestic product to 10% from 6%, state news agency SPA said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPrince Mohammed was quoted as saying in the SPA report. He also said:\u201cThis will help other sectors like tourism, haj and umrah to achieve their national targets.\u201d The addition of another airline would increase the number of international destinations from Saudi Arabia to more than 250 and double air cargo capacity to more than 4.5 million tonnes, the SPA report revealed.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The kingdom has one of the smallest airline networks in the region relative to its size, with current flag bearer Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia).
