On Thursday, the Supreme Court will continue hearings in the suo motu case concerning the rejection of a no-confidence resolution in the National Assembly (today).
The case is being heard by a five-member bigger Supreme Court panel led by Pakistan’s Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial.

In the midst of the Punjab Assembly squabble, the PTI filed a no-trust petition against Deputy Speaker Sardar Dost Muhammad Mazari on April 6, sparking yet another controversy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The incumbent political party filed the no-trust motion when the directive to postpone the assembly’s session to April 16 was not followed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The resolution was brought against Mazari because of his distrust, and it was alleged that following the move, the deputy speaker was no longer entitled to call the House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, Deputy Speaker Mazari voiced his worry about the province’s escalating political situation and insisted that, despite the no-trust motion, he was entitled to call the House session in line with the legislation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
