In Townsville, Emily van Egmond and Sam Kerr scored in additional time to give the Matildas a 2-1 friendly victory against trans-Tasman rivals New Zealand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite dominating the game, the Matildas were on their way to their first loss against the Football Ferns since 1994 on Friday night, trailing 1-0 at the completion of the regulation 90 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kerr pounced on a loose ball from a corner kick on the edge of the six-yard box to head the Matildas to a dramatic triumph. Van Egmond got on the end of Ellie Carpenter’s cross to hammer home the equalizer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
