Treasury yields can be used as an indicator of interest rates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cRight now, we\u2019re connected to this linkage between rising yields and falling tech stocks,\u201d said National Securities strategist Art Hogan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because technology companies rely on debt more than other industries, they often respond negatively to increasing interest rates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Concerns over rising yields as a result of the Federal Reserve\u2019s tightening policies overshadowed a report indicating weaker-than-expected retail sales growth in March, as well as mixed earnings from large banks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The broad-based S&amp;amp;P 500 index ended the
