A 23-year-old man in Newcastle died as a result of a severe allergic reaction to pizza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The guardians of a man who died after eating Deliveroo pizza said they deserve the “full truth” about what happened to their child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

James Atkinson died in July 2020 after ordering an action item pizza from the Dadyal Restaurant in Newcastle using the Deliveroo app, according to his family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 23-year-old from Leeds, who had a history of nut allergies, is believed to have consumed one cut. His family has been notified that he may have had a severe adversely sensitive reaction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because of this, a pre-investigation audit into his death is being conducted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stuart and Jill Atkinson, Mr. Atkinson’s parents, claimed their son was “principled” in inspecting fixes because they needed the “whole truth” about the circumstances that led to his death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They have advocated for more clear displays of allergies to prevent another person from experiencing a similar occurrence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We might want to see a basic structure where it thinks of a check box before you make the request – do you have a sensitivity, yes or no?” Mr. Atkinson told The Sunday Times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you click yes, it instructs you to call the caf\u00e9 via phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“100% of the time, sensitivity data <\/a>is stashed away. It should be straightforward.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“What everyone needs is a suitable, comprehensive rundown of fixings on each object,” Mrs. Atkinson remarked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We’ll never know if that could have saved James, but it could have… we just don’t think this should happen to another family.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After his death, the restaurant was removed from Deliveroo, however it remained on other food stages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It could change again later, according to environmental health officials and police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the caf\u00e9’s owner, the order was placed online through Deliveroo in 2020, and the site offered “very clear” info about allergens and food cleanliness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Deliveroo, the “caf\u00e9 notes” part for Dadyal at the time featured a “cross-defilement notice” for peanuts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Atkinson went to Newcastle University to study software engineering, and after graduation, he stayed in the city with friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His family described him as a “splendid and effervescent individual who made every minute count,” who was passionate about sports and completed a marathon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This is a misfortune, and our thoughts are with the loved ones of the young fellow who tragically perished,” Deliveroo said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deliveroo has contacted the police, who have confirmed that the company has done appropriately and continues to cooperate fully with the investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The organization will fully cooperate with the coroner’s investigation and provide all information provided by the coroner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
