Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa resigned after the government’s handling of the crisis was criticized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To disperse protests, authorities use tear gas and physical force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, Sri Lankan Prime Minister<\/a> Mahinda Rajapaksa surrendered amid huge protests over the government’s handling of a growing financial crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After vicious clashes between Rajapaksa sympathizers and government protesters in Colombo, the island was placed under a time <\/a>limit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Five people have died in violence, including a decision party MP, and more than 190 people have been injured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since a month ago, there have been battles over cost-cutting and power outages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
