Shireen Mazari, a PTI leader and former human rights minister, stated on Friday that “now everyone knows the neutrals weren’t really neutral,” and wondered if they were “part of the plan to undermine Pakistan on the economic and democratic front.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following DG ISPR Maj-Gen Babar Iftikhar’s briefing in March, in which he categorically stated that the army had no involvement in politics and called for avoiding unnecessary discussion and speculation about the army’s alleged involvement in political affairs after the no-confidence motion was filed against then-prime minister Imran Khan, the term “neutral” entered the political discourse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ex-minister said it all in a news conference in Islamabad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mazari stated in a press conference that the impartiality of “neutrals” is now widely questioned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The now-in-power group of thieves and crime ministers devised a plan to get all cases against them dismissed. But what were the neutrals thinking when they let a plot like this succeed? “she inquired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She stated that a cypher was received on March 7 and that a motion of no confidence was tabled the next day. “Our allies later approached the Sindh House and opposition leaders, while one minority dissident was staying in a neutral rest house.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mazari wondered how one could remain neutral while the country was on the verge of collapse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She claimed that a glance at the broad picture would disclose everything, and that the country had now reached a tipping point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Imran, on the other hand, flatly rejected, stating that Pakistan’s sovereignty should never be jeopardized, she continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mazari claims that shortly after it, “Maryam and Shehbaz met separately with the US consul general in Lahore. Following that, American diplomats conducted numerous meetings.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She then went on to say that the cypher delivered by Pakistan’s envoy in the US stated that “If Prime Minister Imran Khan stays in power, he would be cut off from the United States and Europe, and we will confront the matter head-on. Everything will be forgiven if the vote of no confidence succeeds.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
