After a passenger became disruptive, tourists returning from Gran Canaria were forced to make an emergency landing in Portugal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A Jet2 flight bound for Newcastle Airport had to make an emergency landing in Porto, 1,100 miles distant from its UK destination, so that a passenger could be removed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a result of the airline’s “zero tolerance” policy, flight LS542 was diverted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We can confirm that flight LS542 from Gran Canaria to Newcastle was diverted to Porto this morning in order to unload a disruptive passenger,” Jet2 said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We shall not hesitate to pursue any charges incurred as a result of this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Passengers on board the plane said they were stranded in Portugal as a result of a “very, very, very inebriated” man’s rant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“He wouldn’t sit down or shut his mouth,” one remarked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“He was arguing, swearing, and kicking the air stewardess,” another said, adding that the man was “very, very drunk” and refused to sit down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Last week, the no-nonsense airline slapped a pair of brothers with a \u00a350,000 bill and barred them from flying for the rest of their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
