She was appointed a Dame in a day, in an unprecedented move, after a campaign launched to honor her and Buckingham Palace, Kensington Palace, and No10 “moved heaven and earth” to make it happen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mother of two has been flooded with letters from admirers praising her bravery and thanking her for her efforts to raise awareness of colon cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deborah reported in a poignant update that members of the public have addressed letters to “Dame Debs of Woking,” hoping they will reach her, appealing with the postman to “please attempt to deliver.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Thank you so much to all readers for their beautiful words and to those who supported the campaign to make me a Dame,” an emotional Dame Debs told.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
