As officials work to tackle the “unprecedented” outbreak, the UK Health Security Agency<\/a> has amended self-isolation guidelines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So far, the UK has confirmed 20 cases, with more due to be announced later today (Monday, May 23, 2022).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than 80 instances have also been reported in Europe, the United States, Canada, Israel, and Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The disease, first discovered in animals, can be passed from person to person via close physical contact, including intercourse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the UK Health Security Agency, a significant proportion of recent cases in the UK and Europe have been found among gay and bisexual men.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the moment, health officials are advising gay and bisexual men to be on the lookout for any strange rashes or sores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Doctors advise anyone with odd skin lesions to get medical assistance as soon as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Sajid directed procurement of the appropriate vaccination months ago as a preventative step, but we are making sure we are further ahead of the curve by taking quick measures to get even more of the vaccine,” a Whitehall source said last week.
