Sharks have been sighted swimming near a popular Spanish tourist destination as people enjoy the 41-degree temperatures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Monday, tourists captured a blue shark next to rocks at Cala des Moro, a cove in Ibiza’s metropolitan region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A second one was shot yesterday in the ocean off Sa Caleta, a horseshoe-shaped bay dotted with fishermen’s sheds and a popular swimming site for people on the island’s south west coast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of those who witnessed it, Somer Frankland, thought it was a reef shark that got caught on a fishing line since it was swimming in circles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was then observed returning to sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Sunday morning, she posted on a residents’ Facebook page, “There’s a shark swimming around in circles right out from Sa Caleta.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Around two metres long, it appears to be a harmless reef shark, but its movement shows it is tangled in a fishing line. He’s just going around and around in circles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“He’s moved out a little further now, so I don’t think he’s trapped on a rope,” she later added, claiming it was nearly seven feet long.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“There are no reef sharks in Ibiza, only blue sharks, makos, and very seldom white sharks,” one commenter said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
