The change applies to everyone who signed a contract with three on or after October 1, 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Existing customers who renew their contracts after this date will be charged the additional cost as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The cell network, which has over 9.3 million users, eliminated roaming costs in 2013.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It meant that mobile users never had to pay more for calls, texts, or data in other EU nations than they did at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The fee is \u00a32 per day starting on May 23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition, the company is raising the cost of roaming costs for several other places outside the EU to \u00a35 per day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The daily charge allows you to use your phone as you would at home, with the same data, text, and phone call allowances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Customers who pay as they go are unaffected by the changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Roaming in the EU was formerly free, but following Brexit, mobile phone carriers may charge you for using your phone while on vacation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thousands of Vodafone Voxi network subscribers will also face additional roaming costs this month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you want to maintain using your cell plan when travelling to Europe after May 27, you’ll need to purchase a European Roaming Pass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
