The connection between PTI <\/a>Chairman Imran Khan and the army is improving, according to Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Parvez Elahi.
During a news conference in Lahore, he conveyed similar sentiments. When asked if Imran’s relationship with the army was improving, he said yes before adding, “It is happening, which is why they will sit together.” The army and the courts are, without a doubt, Imran’s most important stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The judiciary is delivering justice, and Khan sahab is thanking them right now. Was the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) unable to bring justice? Their traitors were all deposed.”
When asked if he would advise the army to support the government or Imran, Elahi said the army has always stood with Pakistan and shown calm and tolerance in the face of political criticism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“They have to perform their job,” he added, adding that “it is their obligation to guard our borders and they have always engaged in humanitarian efforts.”
The searches on the homes of several PTI leaders and workers were also denounced by the PA speaker. He claimed that evidence had been gathered and that all parties involved will face consequences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He claimed the government was concerned about the PTI’s “popularity.” “Thousands of people flock to Imran’s appeal, and the government is terrified after witnessing the demonstrations.”
Elahi claimed that the government had “cut off its own hands and feet” and set a “poor precedent” by cracking down on the PTI. The killing of a policeman during last night’s raid was also minimised by the PA speaker, who said: “What makes you think he’s a martyr? Was he murdered by a thief? He was handled like a dacoit would be treated.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elahi claimed Imran had planned the long march to Islamabad on March 25 (tomorrow) with “much deliberation” and that his friends were also on board. He defended the march by claiming that the country and the economy were in desperate need of help.
He went on to explain that the highway could not be stopped, and that the government’s containers used to prevent demonstrators might be removed as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elahi went on to say that residents of Islamabad, as well as those from KPK and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, will take part in the march, which he described as the “largest protest in Pakistan’s history.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
