On August 21, HBO will premiere House of the Dragon, the much-anticipated prequel to Game of Thrones, while Amazon Prime Video will begin streaming Lord of the Rings: The Ring of Power on September 2. The two concerts, which are expected to be the most eagerly anticipated in 2022, will square off in an all-out battle to the finish line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

House of the Dragon and Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power are both supported by Game of Thrones author George R R Martin. He does, however, have high hopes for the Game of Thrones spin-off, which he believes will triumph against The Hobbit. A dream showdown is on the horizon… Martin, on the other hand, isn’t entirely sure about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“”Oh, the struggle for fantasy dominance,” is how many articles begin when the dates are revealed. House of Dragon or Rings of Power, who will win?’ I’m baffled as to why they insist on doing it every time “the author recently revealed to The Independent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Martin, on the other hand, isn’t a complete agnostic. “Both programmes have my support. I’m more than capable of competing. I’d want to see us do better in the future “he said. \u201cThe more awards we win, the better, so if they win six, which they should, then I hope we win seven. However, it’s an excellent fantasy tool. Fantasy is my favorite genre. Sci-fi is my favorite genre.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, Martin said in the same piece that networks are frequently seeking for pitches that “compare things to previously successful items.” Previously, Game of Thrones was referred to as “The Sopranos of the Middle Earth” by the author.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was David Benioff and Dan Weiss, when I was still writing novels, who sold the original rights to Game of Thrones. TV wasn’t a part of my life for a while. The show runners, David Benioff and Dan Weiss, approached HBO to see whether they’d acquire or option the rights. “The Sopranos in Middle Earth” was the pitch. “You must be able to express your thoughts in a single statement!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year’s release date of The Winds of Winter was also mentioned by him. According to Martin, “House of the Dragon, the follow-up to Game of Thrones, will premiere on HBO on August 21st.
