According to research, ten out of eleven baby carriers and slings purchased from online marketplaces failed basic safety tests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to its investigation, the products purchased from AliExpress, Amazon, and eBay failed critical safety and durability tests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The consumer champion discovered shoulder straps that fell apart at the seams, leg openings large enough for a baby to slip through, suffocation and entrapment hazards, and a lack of instructions in some cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the findings of their Coming Apart at the Seams report, online marketplaces need to be given more legal responsibility to prevent the sale of dangerous and illegal products on their sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Parents will be horrified at the thought that they could be unwittingly putting their baby at risk by buying a cheap carrier online without knowing that many of these items do not adhere to any kind of legitimate UK safety standard,” said Natalie Hitchins, Which? Head of Home Products and Services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The identified items have been removed,” said an AliExpress spokesman. AliExpress, as a third-party marketplace, does not take possession of the goods in transactions; we have policies in place that all sellers must follow.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
