Fake tickets caused havoc at the Champions League final in Paris – France.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The initial crowd problems at Saturday’s Champions League final in Paris were caused, according to France’s sports minister, by Liverpool fans who did not have valid tickets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amelie Oudea-Castera blamed the chaos at the stadium on a “mass gathering” of supporters with “fake tickets.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, she claimed that local youths attempting to force their way in exacerbated the situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The French police response was criticized by Liverpool fans, and UK Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries described the scenes as “deeply concerning.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police in France have been chastised for using pepper spray and tear gas on Liverpool fans as they waited to enter the stadium on Saturday evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The latest remarks come ahead of a meeting with the French sports ministry, Uefa, on Monday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The United Kingdom has called for an investigation into the Paris football chaos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“First and foremost, there was this mass gathering of British Liverpool supporters without tickets or with fake tickets,” Ms Oudea-Castera told French radio RTL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, she claimed that more people from the surrounding area attempted to force their way in through the doors of the Stade de France, where the match was held.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“A number of youths from the surrounding area who were present tried to get in by blending in with the crowd,” the minister explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She also expressed regret that the use of tear gas had an impact on families and children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
