Dame Deborah James’ family has issued a heartfelt update on her final mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deborah, a writer, has been receiving at-home hospice care since the beginning of May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But, never one to back down, the 40-year-old has had a rose named after her, launched a fashion line, and even received her very own Lego mini-me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While these collaborations have resulted in hundreds of thousands of pounds raised, her greatest passion and mission to date is the BowelBabe fund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So far, the podcaster has raised more than \u00a36.6 million for charities including Cancer Research UK (CRUK), Bowel Cancer UK, and the Royal Marsden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The campaigner’s family thanked everyone for their contributions in an update on the fund’s Instagram page today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Through donations, fundraising, and collaborations, we are all continuing to raise an incredible amount of money that will help more Deborahs have more time.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the help of CRUK, all funds raised will be used to fund causes and projects such as funding clinical trials and research into personalized medicine, which could lead to new treatments for cancer patients.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This includes projects in collaboration with The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) and The Royal Marsden Hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, the funds will be used to support ongoing cancer awareness campaigns, such as Bowel Cancer UK’s Never Too Young campaign.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
