The Queen has been spotted returning to Windsor Castle after a short break ahead of her Platinum Jubilee celebrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 96-year-old monarch had been taking a short break at her Balmoral estate before beginning her busy schedule on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Queen is said to have arrived at her private Scottish residence on Thursday. She usually travels to Scotland around this time of year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But, after a few days of rest, she was seen arriving at Aberdeen Airport today to fly south ahead of the much-anticipated celebrations. Later photographs showed her returning to Windsor Castle in a car with a dog in the back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The monarch has attended a number of high-profile engagements in recent weeks and is said to be pacing herself ahead of the national events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to mobility issues, the Queen <\/a>has had to cancel several high-profile events in recent months, including the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey and the State Opening of Parliament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has, however, been well enough to attend the Royal Windsor Horse Show and the official opening of the new Elizabeth Line at Paddington Station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She also attended the Chelsea Flower Show last Monday, but she was chauffeured around by buggy, allowing her to enjoy the creations of some of the world’s top garden designers from the comfort of the back seat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 96-year-old is celebrating her birthday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trooping the Colour will take place on Thursday, with members of the Royal Family taking horse-drawn carriage rides and waving from the balcony of Buckingham Palace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Queen has decided to bar Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and Prince Andrew from appearing alongside her on the balcony, limiting relatives on the balcony to working royals only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next Friday will begin with the tolling of the bell at St Paul’s Cathedral in London, signaling the start of a Thanksgiving service attended by all members of her family, including Harry and Meghan.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
