The owner of a burger van whose vacation was cancelled by TUI has erected a humorous sign in the middle of a town centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Virginia Hulston, owner of the burger van Couch Potato, was scheduled to fly to Turkey from Manchester Airport on Monday for a two-week vacation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, her friend who booked the flights called her on her way to work this morning to inform her that their much-anticipated vacation had been cancelled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This morning, a sign hung on her burger van on Oxford Road in Manchester read: “We will be open next week due to TUI cancelling my vacation. No thanks.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The burger owner stated that she had not stocked her fast food restaurant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We were going to close in less than two weeks, but now we won’t.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I’d be more upset if I’d arrived at the airport and waited for five hours before being told!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
TUI, the travel agency, has taken the drastic step of cutting flights, affecting approximately 34,000 people’s half-term and summer plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
TUI claims it is to assist in resolving the ‘issues’ that have caused recent flight delays, cancellations, and baggage problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hundreds of other vacationers have taken to social media to complain about the travel company cancelling their own trips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
