A woman discovered approximately \u00a328,000 stuffed in a sofa she purchased on Craigslist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Vicky Umodu of Colton, California, discovered the cash wads inside one of the cushions after discovering the set of sofas while looking for furniture to fill her new home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Umodo was overjoyed to discover them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I scrolled down and saw free items,” Umodu explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“So I clicked on it, and the first thing that appeared was this family who wanted to give away a sofa and everything in their bedroom set. I thought it might be a gimmick, so I called them.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was true – the sellers, unaware of the furniture’s hidden cargo of cash, were giving away the sofas for free following the death of a loved one and the clearing out of their home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I assumed it was a heat pad,” she explained. When Umodo unzipped the cushion, she discovered several large bank deposit envelopes jam-packed with cash, much of it in the form of $100 bills. “Come, come, come! I was just telling my son.
