Queen Elizabeth<\/a> impersonator are among the activities planned to ensure that British expats living more than 5,000 miles away do not miss out on the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\nYe Olde Kings Head, a traditional British pub in Santa Monica, California, is going all out to ensure that those living in the United States can get a “piece of the action” over the holiday weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The venue, which opened in 1974 and includes a restaurant, bakery, and gift shop, has been visited by thousands of people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Stacks of Jubilee memorabilia such as tea towels, mugs, coasters, bunting, and official teddy bears have been added to the shop’s regular supply of British products, which includes Yorkshire Tea, Cadbury’s chocolate, and Marmite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The celebrations, according to operations manager Lisa Powers, were intended to create a “home from home” for expats living abroad, and they attempted to cover “the whole British aspect from all angles.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“To mirror the festivities, we’re creating a community home away from home,” she told the PA news agency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Because not everyone can travel home to celebrate, this event is for all the expats who live here and want a piece of the action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
