I learned a lot working as a field journalist, it was totally a different experience.<\/p>\n<p><em>What problems do journalists face here in Pakistan?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>If you see the market here, many journalists don&#8217;t hold a degree. Also, journalists are underpaid even though there is a transformation going on, as everything is turning online. University curriculums are outdated, I have been teaching here at Punjab University, skill development is an issue here in Pakistan. Developed countries have multi-tasking journalists who can work independently.<\/p>\n<p><em>Did you marry a girl of your choice?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>No, it was my parent&#8217;s decision, totally arranged.<\/p>\n<p><em>Do you feel you should have been in a different profession?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>There isn&#8217;t much growth here, even when switching jobs one is most likely to be demoted. I studied political science and law.<\/p>\n<p><em>If you were to write your autobiography, what would you title it?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Kia khoya Kia Paya.<\/p>\n<p><em>Do you think our media is free?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Self-censorship is an important part of the entire process. One has to be very careful what is being put-up. There are many sensitive stories that can&#8217;t be published without the consent of institutions.<\/p>\n<p><em>Who is your favorite journalist and actress?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Sohail Warraich is one of my favorites. He has great exposure and is a very down to earth person. There are many actresses I adore from our drama industry.
