It has been revealed that a former judge was shot dead at his home by a man with a hit list of figures “related to the judicial system.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From 2004 to 2017, John Roemer, 68, was a Juneau County judge. He previously worked as an assistant district attorney and an assistant state public defender.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police were called to a house in the rural city of New Lisbon, Wisconsin, around 6.30 a.m. on Friday (June 3), following reports of a shooting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police then entered the house shortly after 10 a.m. and discovered two people with gunshot wounds, one of whom was deceased and the other who had been wounded by a self-inflicted gunshot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The injured man was discovered in the basement and treated at home before being transported to the hospital. He is still in critical condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Two individuals were discovered inside the property, one deceased and one with a self-inflicted gunshot wound,” said Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
