And Shakira, 45, confirmed their split in a statement issued through her publicist, though she made no mention of Pique’s alleged infidelity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We regret to confirm that we are parting ways,” it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For the sake of our children’s safety, which is our top priority, we ask that you respect their privacy. “Thank you for your understanding.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to reports in Spain this week, former Manchester United player Pique has been “staying alone in his room.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The World Cup winner is said to have been out and about in Barcelona’s famous nightlife with his friends, including teammate Riqui Puig.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And his partying has been ‘out of control,’ according to Marca.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pique, 35, met Shakira while training in Madrid in preparation for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
