Medics in Syria believe the dust cloud that has engulfed parts of the Middle East could be lethal, as they have treated patients who are struggling to breathe after inhaling the sand-tainted air.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A choking dust cloud has turned the skies of the Middle East apocalyptic red, and some experts are concerned that the storm will spread to Europe next week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, as well as Syria and Iraq, are currently covered in an orange-colored blanket of air.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The region has been experiencing extreme weather conditions since mid-March, but regional experts believe the current patch could have “global implications.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The sand-laden winds reached as far west as UK shores in March, while it hit parts of Spain and France a few weeks earlier, turning the snow-topped slopes of the Alps a muddy brown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Saharan dust cloud caused “blood rain” in London and covered the streets in dust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, experts believe that the current storm is far more dangerous and potentially deadly, with doctors in Syria now treating patients who are unable to breathe due to dust inhalation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The majority of Gulf countries have already declared a state of emergency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
