When contacted, Haripur district forest officer Farhad Khan stated that his teams of firefighters were working hard to put out the fire, but that strong winds were hampering their efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He stated that the fire damaged approximately 80 hectares of forest land in the areas of Kotla, Neelan Bhoto, and Khariyan, which included both reserved and private property, and that the cause of the fire was being investigated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
