Boris Johnson said in his first Commons appearance since surviving a vote of confidence in his leadership that he is determined to “get on” with his job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During Prime Minister’s Questions, Labour MP Dame Angela Eagle told Mr Johnson he was despised and should resign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the prime minister stated that his political career had “barely begun.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Monday’s vote, four in ten Tory MPs expressed dissatisfaction with Mr Johnson’s leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The less-than-expected outcome came after several months of difficulties for the prime minister, who has faced ongoing criticism for parties held in Downing Street during the lockdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the vote of confidence, the Prime Minister is under pressure to cut taxes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boris Johnson<\/a> could face another challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boris Johnson’s job is now in jeopardy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the vote, the prime minister promised to “draw a line” under his recent difficulties and announce a comprehensive reform package to address crime, the NHS, and the rapidly rising cost of living.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And, during a raucous Prime Minister’s Questions, he reaffirmed his intention to stay in power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dame Angela began by asking the first question: “This week’s events have demonstrated how despised this prime minister is, and not just within his own party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Can the prime minister explain why 148 of his own backbenchers don’t trust him when his administration is too distracted by internal divisions to deal with the challenges we face?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
