BUDGET airline easyJet has raised its in-flight food and drink prices by nearly 20%, infuriating holidaymakers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The airline is responsible for leaving thousands of passengers stranded abroad during this week’s half-term flight cancellation chaos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Passengers flying in autumn 2019 could pay \u00a34.50 for a can of BrewDog Punk IPA craft beer (330ml).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, the same drink today will set you back \u00a35.50, an increase of 18%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Similarly, a can of Heineken lager (330ml) now costs \u00a35, a 10% increase over the \u00a34.50 charged by Easyjet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A 50ml\/5cl spirit measure containing brands such as Bombay Sapphire Gin, Smirnoff Vodka, Jack Daniel’s Whiskey, Johnnie Walker Black Label Whiskey, and Bacardi Carta Blanca was charged \u00a34.50 three years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, beginning this summer, passengers will be charged \u00a35.50 for the same drinks, an 18% increase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In-flight food costs have also risen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A meal deal with a sandwich, snack, and drink would cost \u00a37.50 in 2019. It is now \u00a37.95, representing a 6% increase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2019, the deal with an alcoholic beverage cost \u00a310, compared to \u00a310.50 today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tea and coffee prices have also risen by 10%, rising from \u00a32.50 to \u00a33.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
