Alina Kabaeva, 39, an Olympic gold medalist in rhythmic gymnastics, is said to have several children with Russian President Vladimir Putin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The footage, which is being shown in the West for the first time, comes as the Russian star has gone into hiding after being sanctioned by a number of Western countries for her close personal ties to Putin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her nickname was “The Invisible Princess.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She was last seen in Moscow in late November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This year’s event includes a solemn-looking Kabaeva went to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Moscow with a group of young girls and boys to lay flowers for the war dead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Clearly, the West believes so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Last month, Britain sanctioned her, followed by Canada and the EU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In imposing the sanctions, the UK stated, “She is alleged to have a close personal relationship with Putin.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Melanie Joly, Canada’s Foreign Affairs Minister, first called her “a person close to Putin.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She then added: “I’m not sure what to call her, but I suppose she’s his partner.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The EU labelled her a “close associate” of Putin, while the US has refrained from imposing sanctions, removing her from an April sanctions list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Earlier statements deny they are related.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kabaeva has not been seen in public since before the restrictions were imposed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Earlier in the war, there were claims she was hiding in a Swiss safe house, but her current location is unknown, though rumors point to Sochi, where Putin spends a lot of time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
All information about The National Media Group (NMG), of which she was chairman, was recently removed from open databases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
