Personal items belonging to missing UK journalist Dom Phillips and indigenous expert Bruno Pereira have been discovered by Brazilian police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr Phillips’ boots and a backpack containing clothes are among the items, as are Mr Pereira’s health ID card, a flip-flop, black trousers, and boots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On June 5, the pair went missing while travelling by boat on a reporting trip in a remote Amazon rainforest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The police discovered possible human remains last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The “organic material” discovered in a river near the town of Atalaia do Norte has been analyzed by experts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Blood traces discovered on a boat belonging to an arrested fisherman are also being tested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the last 24 hours, another boat belonging to the suspect was also discovered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to indigenous groups, both men have faced threats as a result of their work in the region, which has seen illegal fishing, logging, mining, and drug trafficking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
