Hannah Ford, Winston “Winchester” Hagans’ fianc\u00e9e, was killed in a three-car crash in January 2021, about a month after the couple got engaged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the advice of his late partner’s father, a man who planted flowers on his fianc\u00e9e’s gravesite was arrested and fined for criminal littering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Winston placed a planter box full of fresh flowers and a photo of the two of them on Hannah’s grave in Auburn, Alabama, to honour her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Winston, on the other hand, was arrested earlier this year on a charge of criminal littering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While city officials had assured him that he could place the planter at Ford’s gravesite, they were forced to enforce a law prohibiting this if a complaint was filed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Winston later discovered that the complaint was filed by Tom Ford, his fianc\u00e9e’s father, who did not approve of their relationship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This would be suspended as long as Winston did not place any additional flowers or planter boxes on his fianc\u00e9e’s grave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Winston’s attorney, Jeff Tickal, stated that a written appeal would be filed within two weeks of his guilty verdict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If he wins his appeal, he will be granted a new trial and the fines and court costs will be waived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Winston wrote on his website about meeting Hannah at a coffee shop in Montgomery, Alabama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her father was the pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Montgomery, and his father was an evangelist in Opelika, Alabama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hannah was a rising star in Alabama Republican politics, having worked on several political campaigns, including Roy Moore’s US Senate campaign in 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Moore lost the election to Democrat Doug Jones after a woman accused him of initiating a sexual encounter when she was 14 years old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hannah left politics around the time her relationship with Winston was becoming more intense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
