On Saturday, Tom Furey suffered “very serious injuries” at Cneifion Arete near Llanberis, according to the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rescue crews and a coastguard helicopter were called at around 11.30 a.m. after two climbers spotted him at the trail’s end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr Furey was given first aid while the climbers who alerted the rescue team were escorted back to safety. He was airlifted to the hospital, but he died.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Katie Simmons, his fianc\u00e9e, has since paid tribute to the “absolute love of her life,” saying, “He was doing something he loved, and that is what is important.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“My fianc\u00e9, my soul mate, my person, the absolute love of my life sadly passed away on June 11th following a climbing accident,” she wrote on social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
