The EU is expected to sue the UK government this week over its decision to cancel some post-Brexit trade arrangements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Monday, they released a parliamentary bill aimed at overturning parts of the 2020 agreement with the EU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, Brussels claims that breaking the agreement violates international law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Northern Ireland Protocol is a component of the Brexit agreement that keeps Northern Ireland in the EU’s goods single market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This avoids a hard border with the Republic of Ireland, as well as border checks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The United Kingdom has revealed plans to withdraw from parts of the EU Brexit deal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Europe is bracing for a trade war that no one wants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Instead, it means that some goods arriving in Northern Ireland from other parts of the UK will be subject to inspection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Unionists in Northern Ireland are opposed, arguing that it would create a trade border in the Irish Sea and could lead to the UK’s disintegration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following last month’s elections in Northern Ireland, the Democratic Unionist Party has refused to serve in a power-sharing executive with Sinn Fein until the protocol is changed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
