After 130 dead cats were discovered in a freezer in Canada, an investigation was launched.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The shocking discovery was made inside a trailer in Vanderhoof, British Columbia, and has sparked an investigation by the BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eileen Drever, who has worked for the SPCA for over three decades, described it as one of the worst cases she has ever seen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Obviously, we’ve come across deceased animals in the past, but never to that extent,” she told.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Less than a week after the discovery, animal control officers in Fort St. James searched another trailer owned by the same person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The entryway and hallway to the bedrooms were covered in layers of faeces, and the entire trailer was very hot and filled with an overwhelming ammonia smell due to urine buildup,” Drever wrote. “Because of the stickiness, the faeces and urine were so thick that boot covers were pulled off within a couple of steps.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Drever went on to say that the animals were being starved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“There was no water for any of the animals,” she explained. “There was some dry cat food on the floor, but it was contaminated with urine and faeces.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the SPCA, the three seized Chihuahuas are being treated for “dental disease, hair loss, and other conditions.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
