Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif promised the nation on Thursday that his government would release “details soon” about the previous PTI regime’s agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His tweet comes a day after the government raised fuel prices by nearly Rs60, with petrol reaching Rs233.89 \u2014 a record high in the country’s history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Acutely aware of the consequences of a fuel price increase. Because of the IMF agreement signed by the PTI government, the government is forced to raise prices. Will soon give the nation assurances on the specifics of the IMF-PTI agreement, “penned the prime minister<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“InshaAllah, we will overcome our economic difficulties,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
PM Shehbaz then slammed the previous government’s handling of negotiations with the global lender, saying: “I wonder if those who struck the worst ever deal with the IMF and made demonstrably bad economic decisions have the courage to face the truth.
